Nanospheres are supplied in dry powder form. Polyethylene beads can be used to produce porous ceramics by burning out the polymer at temperatures above autoignition. The small size and pure polyethylene formulation (no additives, colorants, or solvents) is advantageous for use in microplastics (MPs) and nanoplastics (NPs) research.

Polyethylene particles are hydrophobic and suspend easily in oil-based solutions. They can also be suspended in aqueous solution if coated with a surfactant prior to suspending in water. We recommend using Tween 80 or Tween 20 Surfactants.

Hello, the website specifies that the PE nanospheres (https://www.cospheric.com/Polyethylene-Nanospheres-200nm-9900nm.htm) need to be coated with surfactant prior to dispersing in water. I was wondering if they would be dispersible in an alcohol solvent (e.g. ethanol or methanol)?

Thank you for asking about our PENS product. The product is not supplied as sterilized or cleaned to any specific parameters, however is supplied as virgin packaged material. The product is not sterile. If your application requires specific cleaning and sterilization we recommend to perform any necessary protocols in your lab to ensure the product meets your applications needs.
