The small size and spherical shape of the particles allow the powder to
spread easily on most surfaces, creating a thin layer of powder,
invisible to the naked eye under daylight illumination. When illuminated with 365nm UV light or black light, the powder acquires highly visible yellow-green fluorescent color,
which is clearly distinguishable from the background.
In this way, flesh-tone fluorescent microspheres are used as a reliable engineered contaminant simulation and verification tool.
No solvents are used in the manufacturing process. The microspheres are highly opaque particles with maximum hiding power.
Polyethylene microspheres are hydrophobic and suspend easily in
oil-based solutions. They can also be suspended in aqueous solution if
coated with a surfactant prior to suspending in water. We recommend
using Tween 80 or Tween 20 Surfactants.
